Healing Functions

• Outpatient care.
• Care of medical-surgical, pediatric, gynecological-obstetric and psychiatric emergency patients.
• Hospitalized patient care (clinical history, clinical diagnosis, diagnostic procedures, interpretation of laboratory tests, imaging and others), comprehensive correlation, therapeutic prescriptions and rehabilitation, organic and physical treatments.
• Participation as an assistant in some general surgical procedures (cesarean sections, curettage, herniorrhaphy, appendectomy, abscess drainage, soft tissue and external surface sutures, and other surgeries during his rotation).
• Administration of local analgesia, local and regional anesthesia.
• Care of low-risk births and low- and medium-risk newborns.
• Interconsultations and referral of patients who require it, to the higher level of medical care.

Physician Specialist in Health and Social Security Management with proven experience of more than 30 years in Health Administration and Hospital Administration and in the academic field Teaching for 15 years as a Postgraduate professor of the Hospital Administration module in the Health Management Specialization at the University of Cartagena, Postgraduate professor of the Social Security module in the Health Management Specialization of the Technological University of Bolívar, and in the planning and feasibility study for the University Project of the Colombian Red Cross. Co-author of Research articles and Presentations at the local National and International level and Director of the School of Medicine of the University of Sinú 2007 - 2009 and currently since February 2019.

Demonstrated capacity in Development of Health Projects, Contracting and Negotiation, Process Design and Institutional Quality Tools, Strategic Planning, Contract Administration, Commercial Management, Financial Management and Labor Relations. His professional experience in this field as Manager of the Bocagrande Hospital for 8 years, Deputy Manager of the Henrique De la Vega Clinic, Medical Director of the Vargas Clinic, Regional Health Coordinator of National Railways, Deputy Director of the San Juan de Dios Clinic and New Manager Bocagrande Hospital.

He has carried out work in Strategic Direction in Public and Private Institutions of the Health Sector. Advice on Hospital Organizational Development and creation of IPSs. I have worked in the design and elaboration of Projects at the regional and national levels, design of Strategic Plans in the Health sector and in the Social sphere, Consulting and Development of Government Plans with the Ministry of Social Protection, with the Ministry of Foreign Trade in the theme of Competitiveness and Productivity for the Exportation of Health Services and in Strategic Management and Hospital Improvement with Vision – La Sabana University. Member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Clinics and Hospitals.

With a high relational profile in the Health Sector at the regional and national level, as well as in the social and community sphere at the regional level. Sectional Executive Director and currently Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Colombian Red Cross, Bolívar Section. Founding member of FUNDEVIDA and the Fundación Ayúdame a Vivir FUNVIVIR.
