Mission

The Mission of the Master's Degree in Epidemiology at the Universidad del Sinú seeks to train professionals with technical, human, administrative, analytical and innovation skills in the area of epidemiology, competent for efficient performance, with social and ethical commitment in the clinical, investigative, educational, social and political that allows you to contribute to the resolution of health problems and needs with a holistic view of the human being and of the processes related to health in the individual and in the population.

Vision

By the year 2025, the Master's in Epidemiology of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Sinú will be recognized as a program with high quality and academic excellence, comprehensive training of professionals in Epidemiology at the regional, national and international levels, committed with research, education and social projection, with a spirit of responsibility, high ethical values in the qualified provision of the service to contribute to the development and well-being of the community in the health situation in which they find themselves and in the social and environment in which they are immersed evidenced by the impact of their graduates on the environment.

Professionals from the Health Area, interested in completing their training and deepening their knowledge of Epidemiology.

  • Contribute to a greater propagation and democratization of culture in our environment, fostering the formation of an individual with a universal projection that at the same time represents the cultural and human values of the Colombian man.

  • It will train professionals capable of generating, creating, innovating proposals with a sufficient scientific and epidemiological basis where they work; making them participants in the intersectoral and interdisciplinary work processes in the epidemiological area of Public Health, builder of the analysis of the health-disease process in the regional and national context, which generate better conditions of quality of life and health of the populations

  • Train capable professionals within the field of science, technology and culture to serve the development of the region and the country, basically taking into account the integral formation of man and his own fulfillment as such

The Master in Epidemiology A graduate of the Universidad del Sinú will be able to work in the areas of teaching, research and social projection such as:

  • Epidemiologist in entities such as official, private and social security health services.
  • As an advisor to regulatory entities of the health sector in relation to the analysis of the state of health, the formulation of intervention policies and the evaluation of the quality of the provision of said services.
  • As coordinator and/or advisor of epidemiological surveillance systems.
  • As a director in administrative positions, at the strategic or managerial level of the various health institutions.
  • As Director, Advisor or Member of interdisciplinary health teams.
  • The Epidemiologist may also be a clinician, whose greatest interest will be the application of the epidemiological method in teaching, research or daily practice.
  • Director of health observatories at national or international level.
  • Leader of research groups
  • Member, advisor in programs or networks of cooperation in health at national and international level.
  • Professor in undergraduate and postgraduate programs in related training areas
  • Director of multicenter studies of evaluation of therapies and treatments.
