Health professionals: nurses, doctors, therapists/physiotherapists, nutritionists, bacteriologists, psychologists, among others.

– Professionals from other disciplines: economists, engineers, sociologists, lawyers, anthropologists, social workers and administrators, among other professionals who wish to obtain education and training to perform public health functions in any of its fields.

– Students of the University of Sinú with the option of co-terminal of a Master's degree.

In the training process of the Master in Public Health, the University of Sinú has consigned itself in its Institutional Educational Project in such a way that the master has an impact on the disciplinary and social area of the community without neglecting research, this is how the Master in Public Health will be:

  • Professional with research training and applied knowledge, committed to the development of population health from a pluralistic, critical and ethical perspective.

  • Professional analyst who will address population health and disease phenomena at the local, regional, national and global levels, as well as their epidemiological, environmental, social-political and cultural dynamics, from an integrating vision.

  • Professional who will have the necessary skills to form multidisciplinary and intersectoral and transsectoral teams in the public and private spheres, with a focus on participation and empowerment of civil society.

The Master in Public Health graduated from the Universidad del Sinú will be able to work in the areas of teaching, research and social projection such as:

  • Public Health Specialist in entities such as official, private and social security health services
  • Director or coordinator of public health in IPS, EPS, ESE, health secretariats at the local, departmental or national level.
  • Advisor to regulatory entities of the health sector in relation to the analysis of the state of health, the formulation of intervention policies and the evaluation of the quality of the provision of said services.
  • Coordinator or advisor of epidemiological surveillance systems.
  • Director in administrative positions, at the strategic or managerial level of the various health institutions.
  • Director, Advisor or Member of interdisciplinary health teams.
  • Director of health observatories at national or international level.
  • Leader of research groups
  • Member, advisor in programs or networks of cooperation in health at national and international level.
  • Professor in undergraduate and postgraduate programs in related training areas.
  • Director of multicenter studies of evaluation of therapies and/or treatments.
  • Manager of public health surveillance programs and activities in national and regional entities of the public and private sectors or technical advisor in community development programs.

Applicants must submit the following documents as registration requirements.

degree requirements

In accordance with the postgraduate regulations to qualify for the title of Master of Public Health, the student must have met the requirements established in the regulations of the institution and in the legal norms, the requirements for the degree are described below, as as established by the General Postgraduate Regulations of the University, in its article 66:

  • Have completed and passed all the valid subjects and modules required by the program.
  • Obtain a total weighted average of no less than 3.5
  • Obtain approval to graduate from the academic council or Have completed the degree work required by the program, which must be personally supported before a jury assigned by the Universidad del Sinú.
  • Cancel the degree rights required by the University and be in peace and safe for all concepts with it.
  • Not be involved in a disciplinary process or be serving a serious sanction

  • The date information for the interview will be sent with the confirmation of the acceptance of the Registration documents.
  • The Interview will be held virtually.
