PURPOSE

Train professionals capable of designing, implementing and managing quality management programs in food companies, studying and improving safety processes, being lead auditors and members of certifying teams and consultants in quality and food safety systems, being responsible for chains of food distribution and advisors for the implementation of food safety in the food industry and governmental and non-governmental programs.

Bacteriologists, Food Engineers, Agricultural Engineers, Agroindustrial Engineers, Process Engineers, Industrial Engineers, Chemical Engineers, Business Administrators, Veterinary Doctors, Microbiologists, Nutritionists and Dieticians, Chemists, Food Chemists, Pharmaceutical Chemists, Animal Husbandry and other related professions.

  • Ability to generate new ideas and carry out the necessary actions for the continuous improvement of food quality management systems.
  • Design and implement audit, monitoring and control programs
  • Ability to execute, direct and control food quality management programs. Capacity for the design and execution of research projects, for the innovation and optimization of food quality management processes.
  • Ability to direct certification processes in Food Quality Management Systems.
  • Ability to generate new ideas and carry out the necessary actions for the continuous improvement of food quality management systems.

The Master in Food Quality Management of the University of Sinú Sectional Cartagena will be able to perform as:

  • Coordinator of integrated food quality management systems in any organization of the country's agri-food chain, such as large companies, SMEs and small agri-food businesses, with an integrated vision from the territory to the national, regional and global levels.
  • Auditor of food production, handling and conservation in any organization of the agri-food chain.
  • Advisor and consultant in the area of certification in the field of quality management and food safety.
  • Public policy advisor for food safety and quality at the National Ministry of Health and Social Protection and other government structures, as well as consultant for the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare (ICBF), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the Organization World Health Organization (WHO), the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and/or consultant in public and private projects
  • Advisor in the contextualization of national public policies, in the face of the growing demands of international food trade regulations in the world of globalization and Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).
  • Director of training in food quality systems.
  • Consultant for management systems of current and emerging risks for food safety and quality, agricultural health in any organization of the food supply chain and risk communication strategies and alert systems for food safety and quality.
  • Advisor to regulatory entities, academia and industry for the application of advanced methodologies for continuous improvement and food safety.
  • Teacher at technical and university level in the area of food quality management.
  • Advisor facing the challenges of food sovereignty and security, regenerative development and climate change, food loss and waste prevention programs in any organization of the agri-food chain as part of national strategies for sustainable food production and consumption.
