Hospital malnutrition worldwide ranges between 30 and 50% of patients, this increases morbidity and mortality due to the growing complications that they entail and therefore raise health costs. The main objectives of the Nutritional Support teams are to identify patients with significant nutritional alterations, to carry out a timely nutritional diagnosis that determines the appropriate therapeutic plan and to administer nutritional support safely and effectively, framed by ethical principles, of high scientific quality and with the commitment to generate new knowledge from their own experiences through research projects. Due to the above, and responding to the needs of society, the University of Sinú with its School of Nutrition and Dietetics offers an update alternative to all health professionals interested in this field.
