Scientific and Cultural Week 2021
From October 25 to 29, the XIX version of the Scientific and Cultural Week of the University of Sinú, Cartagena Section was held. For this edition, the week took as its central axis "Health Economics, Reflections and Challenges of the Post-Pandemic" with sub-themes on Health and Development, Economic Reactivation, Migration and Development.
The opening ceremony featured the intervention of the former Minister of Health and candidate for the presidency, Dr. Alejandro Gaviria Uribe. Likewise with Dr. Iván Agudelo Zapata, creator of the Spin-of law, author and rapporteur of the law that created the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.
Similarly, the current Minister of Health, Dr. Luis Alexander Moscoso Osorio, a medical surgeon specializing in social security, intervened. Together with them, Dr. Julio Mario Orozco Africano participated, who has more than 24 years of experience in the consolidation of groups recognized and categorized as A1 by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.
In this context, the different academic areas of the university carried out activities that revolved around the concept of the central axis, adapting it to their area of study, thus creating spaces for enriching information and discerning the contribution of each career in the areas indicated in Economics. and health.
The event featured face-to-face and virtual presentations and interventions by authorities in the area, dealing with the issues in a rigorous manner, allowing the mentality of the attendees to expand on different social and economic problems in the scientific, technological and business framework.
In addition to the development of academic and cultural events, the week gave space for the display of ventures, which contained innovative ideas. Similarly, the Elías Bechara Zainúm Foundation was present with various activities.
As a closing act of the Scientific and Cultural Week, a tribute was made to the birth of the co-founder of the University of Sinú, Doña Saray Castilla de Bechara, accompanied by music, art and poetry that reflects her essence and legacy. For this, our parent company, the "Saray Castilla de Bechara" School of Arts, Montería Headquarters, as well as our Symphony Orchestra, were present with a dramaturgical work and the intonation of folk songs that represent the essence of our land.
Through these spaces created to seek the enrichment of students, teachers and administrative staff, the University of Sinú as an institution is committed to promoting activities that exploit the potential of its entire community, through the example and shared experience that provide these spaces.
